An excellent opportunity has arisen within our Creative Services team for a Digital Designer. We’re looking for an experienced digital all-rounder to be an essential part of our digital team, someone who can lend their skills, insight and talent to a range of creative digital projects, from web design and enhancing user-experiences to online advertising, social media and more. About the role: 

The Digital Designer is a pivotal role within our Creative business; they will be involved in interpreting client briefs and determining project goals whilst working as a team to fulfil the best possible project outcomes. There will be a mix of creating new digital designs (primarily for web) from scratch and maintaining and updating ongoing projects for a range of clients, spanning a full spectrum of industries.


Working as part of the digital team, you will primarily focus on website design with a strong desire for creating great user experience and user interfaces. You will also have demonstrable prior experience in designing modern websites, with design experience across ads, emails, social media and other types of deliverables and digital assets.

What we're looking for:

As a Digital Designer at BCQ Group you’ll get to showcase your expertise in creating digital assets for our clients’ multimedia and digital communication needs. More specifically, you’ll get to:


  • Design on-brand creative solutions for a variety of our clients including websites, product graphics, email templates, social media graphics, brand campaigns, and photography
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver digital designs that are creative, useful, and align with technical and brand standards
  • Concept and take ideas from concept to execution, working with project managers, design colleagues, developers, and content experts to deliver an effective user experience
  • Use the latest software and applications to design and develop digital solutions.

As our successful candidate you will have 6 years + experience, ideally within an agency environment working across digital, social and traditional design. You will also have a keen eye for both form and function, with an understanding of user engagement and interaction with web and digital platforms

Your key responsibilities would be:

  • Acting as a focal point for digital design, conceptualising and designing websites and interactive projects that enhance customer experience by improving the usability, accessibility and appeal associated with a product in a way that is aesthetically pleasing, user-friendly and based on research psychology
  • Having a functional understanding of coding and an ability to communicate our customers’ strengths and personality seamlessly throughout a project. You’ll enjoy bringing concepts to life and working with a team of marketeers, creatives and account leads.
  • Creating eye-catching creative design, maintaining high standards at all times to ensure the growth of the creative department and increase profitability
  • To create, with a keen inquisitive eye and understanding of visual communication, for a broad range of projects and clients
  • Interpreting client briefs from internal teams and directly from clients, helping to scope out the projects, asking the right questions a providing estimates of the time required to meet the tasks/projects at hand
  • Helping to shape the future of digital design within our agency, utilising the latest technologies, trends, and standards to keep our digital design ahead of the curve
  • Working closely with the development team on key projects to ensure that the design and architecture of digital projects are perfectly aligned
  • To conduct testing of sample applications, websites and software to evaluate user experience and ease of design
  • Using recent studies and findings to establish the best overall design elements to include in UX design experiences
  • Building styleboards to conceptualise ideas to accurately convey project plans to clients and internally
  • Designing the aesthetics to be implemented within a website or product, from the layout menus and drop-down options to branded elements, graphics, colours and fonts, allowing for interface edits as needed
  • Enhancing user experience by creating seamless navigation through various digital programs and interfaces within the company
  • Combining interface design concepts with digital design and establish milestones to encourage cooperation and teamwork

The key attributes we’re looking for in you include:

  • Great design skills
  • A good understanding of web platforms and capabilities – but also the ability to talk in layman’s terms about it
  • Experience in digital design and a passion for user experience
  • Organisation and the abilty to deliver on promises
  • Strong experience using Adobe XD and Adobe Suite products
  • Confidence in dealing with internal teams, and client stakeholders
  • The ability to establish and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal skills
